Mark Miers

I am fourth generation farmer - born on dairy farm – then when I was 5 years old my father sold the cows and bought tractors and grew potatoes.  In total I have been in dairy for 20 years.

My role now is as General Manager of Clovelly Tasmania, which is part of a family farming company with interests in over 110,000 ha in 9 countries.  We have 45 staff.

We milk 4,000 mainly Friesian cows twice/day, in two 54 rotary dairies 2km apart on the one property.  All our calving is done in Spring.

On farm we also run 2,000 head of young stock and 1,000 beef animals

Our property has 1,100 ha irrigated and 1,100 ha rain fed plus a 5,000 ML dam storage and direct river water licenses.
