Matty Grant

I’ve been dairy farming since finishing school in 2000. In that time I’ve been an apprentice, a farm hand, a share farmer, farm owner and now my partner Renata and I lease a 305ha property at Naringal that is supported by a 120ha out paddock we own at Scotts Creek.
We milk around 520 predominately Holstein cows that calve summer and autumn supplying a WestFresh contract. We have a small workforce on the farm that allows us to spend some time with our new baby boy Alfie.
We’ve always had a strong connection to community involving ourselves in CFA, footy clubs and industry programs and events such as discussion groups, Young Dairy Network and Cream Of The Crop.
We are passionate about our industry and more importantly the people in it. We like to upskill ourselves and our staff. Where we can, we want to help progress fellow farmers careers and farming practices. Joining FASC has been a great opportunity to understand our industry, connect with other farmers from across the regions and relay the farmers perspective back to Fonterra.
