I was born and raised on a dairy farm in Meander, Tasmania. I then worked with my parents in Smithton, Tasmania until I was 25. I then moved to northern Victoria and ran a dairy farm just outside of Cohuna. I returned to Tasmania in 2024 with my young family.
I’m now the Operations Manager for TRT Dairies in Woolnorth, Tasmania. TRT Dairies were established in 2021 which comprises of four dairies here in Woolnorth. Three of the Dairies are currently being operated by TRT and are joined together via internal laneways. We milk 2,200 cross breed cows; two 700 spring herds and an 800 autumn herd. Our other dairy is currently leased out to another corporate while TRT are establishing themselves in the dairy industry.
I not only have a passion and drive for the dairy industry but also in training and mentoring the next generation of dairy farmers.
Without engaging our youth and encouraging their innovation and passion, the dairy industry will not exist.
